... but someone's gonna have to do it.
Alright, so I was contacted by UncannyX-Factor about talking about my characters and... well, there's a gosh darn lot to say, I didn't know where to begin! Luckily, I got him to go through some of my folders to pick out a couple that he liked with the premise that I'd do a journal about them when I have time. (Since it's so scarce these days.)
And I've done fact blogs like this prior so why not give these new entries the same treatment! Just a warning, I hope you didn't eat anything prior to this.

Sludd
1. Sullivan Cleaner developed his empathic abilities as a young child, causing him to suffer from frequent mood swings. His parents spent years trying to understand what was "wrong" with their son.
2. A psychologist, Dr. Morse, claimed to know of similar cases and revealed Sullivan's psychic potential. Morse who quickly struck up a friendship with the boy as he offered to mentor him, but the doctor had ulterior motives: namely, recruiting the boy into a criminal organization comprised of powerful mentalists.
3. When Morse finally made his move, the shock caused Sullivan to subconsciously separate the essence of his psyche from his body. As he had locked himself in a washroom and was crying over a sink at the time, it was literally flushed down the drain... and into the sewers. Sullivan's mind suffused itself with the waste it landed in, and as a result he found he could somehow control it as if it were his own body.
4. His initial emergence as Sludd happened to be right at the scene of a mugging. His inadvertent play at heroics was both emboldening, and a cause for personal conflict.
5. Since becoming Sludd, Sullivan's mental power has grown-- he is now able to detect the emotions of other people even from underground, can communicate telepathically, and sense the world through his makeshift body as if it were his own.
6. He can assume a crudely humanoid form, draw in or expel waste matter to alter his size and shape, and otherwise control sewage in his vicinity as he wills.
7. Sludd also has a means of fast travel by simply merging with the sludge of an underground channel and moving his mental essence to a new location, where he can reform.
8. Sludd's psyche is as fluid as his own body. He is as often seen capable of coherent, rational thought as he is simple-minded and unable to form even simple sentences.
9. The prominence of Sullivan's empathy causes him to be drawn to particularly powerful, or unique, emotions like an insect to flame. As Sludd dwells below the surface world, this is oftentimes the reason he is compelled to emerge from the sewers-- or investigate anyone entering his domain.
10. Sludd was created in Champions Online in March 2013, so in about a month he'll be four years old!
11. Was originally concepted as an adult janitor who had a similar out-of-body experience, falling under the influence of a mind-control device. Sludd as he is now is in his early teens.
12. Is generally inspired by elemental characters like Swamp Thing, and Man-Thing, (and I only found out later that Garbage Man was also a thing). Initially created in CO to be an equivalent of an old teen character from City of Heroes: specifically, the cloud-form mutant who would later get another spin-off into Cloudcrown.
13. Out of all the MMO characters' I've concepted and RPed, perhaps Sludd has the potential to be the most powerful or most difficult to fight.

Unfold into Action original song released!
Long time no see, again? This month I had the opportunity to commission Reku Mochizuki on Skeb to create a theme song for my character's 8th Anniversary, which will be upcoming in June. Reku has been one of my favorite rhythm game musicians recently so (even though it's already been in the wild for a week) it's a bit surreal that this is a real thing that exists, but I love how it turned out. It's available to listen on YouTube and Soundcloud.
State of the 'Art (who does that, anyway?)
Been a while since you've seen this friendly face, eh? I'm going to be outright honest, dA hasn't really been grabbing my attention too much since the site's redesign. I thought I could wait it out a bit and see what improvements would be made in the time following Eclipse's launch but... while some features I've seen are good, I'm still kinda wishing they didn't futz with what worked, y'know? So, I'm mostly just lurking around these days. This otherwise-silent protagonist really appreciates the continued support for the Infinix art that's posted on the gallery-- I definitely notice all your notifications that pop up every time someone faves a piece! Don't think I'm going anywhere either. If for naught else, dA has always been a place for me to discover artists I'd potentially like to commission for my little superhero projects, so that's something I'd like to hopefully continue. Probably need to put a little more effort into figuring how this site works, though. Stay super! NIX
Echoes
Public service announcement, brought to you by a very belated Robenix. I had been meaning to post something about this last year, when this issue first became known to me, but I've been busy dealing with work and was just generally grappling with whether or not to post as others were looking into it. Long story short, it came to light in late 2020 that a user on the Echoes of the Multiverse fan forum by handle of Gamebook had been taking commissioned artwork from various sites, including DeviantArt and Facebook, and using them to represent characters for his Mutants and Masterminds fan builds. The thread that they are posted in is over 400 pages long and goes back over four and a half years or so-- and while it includes things from established properties (Marvel, DC, Warhammer, Transformers, etc.) there's also a lot of OC artwork as well and that's what I wanted to bring attention to here. While I would say the stat builds themselves are innocuous, there's many, MANY instances where
One year of Twitch. Four years of Infinix.
Things are officially set up for the one-year Twitch anniversary (which coincides with my mascot/herosona OC Infinix's birthday). On 23rd June I'll be streaming most of the day on my Twitch channel. I also have an AMA going on my Facebook page and Discord server (see the askmeanything-infinix4th channel) where people can ask me about my various characters and ideas, including Infinix and my story idea Earth-88. Answers for the questions will be read live on stream! Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=2872511176179875 Discord: https://discord.gg/6FK7VQP And, that's not all. As part of the AMA, anyone who submits at least one question to FB or Discord before the end of 22nd June will be entered for a raffle to win a sketch from artist Jonathan Rector, that I'll commission as my Patreon reward for next month. Hope to catch you at the stream!
